Planning Enquiries

Charnwood Borough Council provide details on their website, where you can search by address or date. CPRE, the Campaign to Protect Rural England, has much useful help and information about planning issues. See also the new Planning Applications Map via the link below where you can select details from an aerial map.

Charnwood's website has a new section to help you determine whether or not you need planning permission www.charnwood.gov.uk/pages/extending_your_home and they have started to publish a Planning Services Newsletter, sent to local councils - see below.

Councillors consider applications and responses at parish council meetings, which start at 7 p.m. Two councillors explore planning applications for each village in the Parish. Contact any Councillor or the Clerk if you wish to see plans, make comments or find out what Council's response was.

Outwoods development

The Loughborough South West Action Group [LSWAG] is trying to prevent a large area of land close to the Outwoods from being included as development land in the forthcoming Charnwood Local Development Framework [LDF]. The LDF sets out where future development should take place. Charnwood BC is still to complete this. The Outwoods proposal is for 3000 homes with associated shops, schools and roads. The group has published a Newsletter to keep people informed.

Proposed National Planning Policy Framework

The Government's Draft Planning Policy Framework was for consultation until 17 October. Meanwhile, local planning authorities are being encouraged to use it now as a 'material consideration' when they are considering applications. To read more, follow the links below.
